First Thursday Community Supper
Rehobeth provides a free dinner for our community on the first Thursday of each month (except November). For safety reasons, the meal is drive-through take-out only.
Join us for our next dinner on October 7 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. (or until the food runs out). The meal will include fried chicken, corn, green beans, a roll, and cookies. To pick up a meal, please drive up to the portico of the Family Life Center.
Relay for Life/ColeStrong Golf Tournament
The annual Relay for Life/ColeStrong Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, October 11, at the Glen Oaks Golf Club in Maiden. Flyers with more information and entry forms are located on the tables in the narthex and fellowship hall.
The Cockman Family Concert
The award-winning Cockman Family will perform at Rehobeth’s Family Life Center on Saturday, October 16, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Consisting of a father, a daughter, may sons, and several grandchildren, this talented family shares the gospel of Jesus Christ through their songs. As soloists, each is exceptional. As a group, they are incomparable. You won’t want to miss this concert! Seating is on a first come, first served basis. As a safety precaution, the audience is asked to wear masks.
Let’s Get a Pumpkin! Check back for updated information
Our pumpkin-picking event originally scheduled for Sunday, October 17, has been canceled as Carrigan Farms is not currently offering hayrides or pumpkin picking at this time. Dana is trying to find a new venue for this event. We apologize for any inconvenience but hope to have an update in the next week or so.
Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat – New Date
Mark your calendars! Our annual Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, October 31, at Rehobeth’s Connor Recreation Center beginning at 3:30 p.m. We will be hosting an “old-fashioned” festival, with popcorn, cotton candy, fishing games, three-legged races, and game booths. We’ll also be selling cakes and pies made by members of the church and the youth. At 5:00 p.m., we’ll transition to Trunk or Treat, with prizes awarded for the top two trunks. This is a popular event for both the church and the community, so we need lots of volunteers. Sign-up sheets are available in the narthex and the Family Life Center for those who would like to help. We hope to see you there!
Rehobeth’s well-known barbecue returns on Saturday, November 13, but with a few modifications to help keep everyone safe. We will be serving “take-out” only, and only between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Plates will cost $12 each and sandwiches are $6 each. Plates include barbecue and sauce, slaw, pickles, baked beans instead of sweet potatoes, a roll, and dessert. Drinks will not be available. Additionally, to make sure desserts are easy to pack with minimal handling, we are asking that the homemade desserts be limited to the following: pound cakes, cookies, brownies, or dessert bars. Pass the word!
Book Sale/Signing to Benefit the Family Life Center
Our own Karen Lail has published a Christmas romance, Christmas in the Key of G, through Trilogy Christian Publishing. If you like Hallmark Christmas movies, you will enjoy this book! Karen will be selling and signing copies after each service on Sunday, November 21. These are from Karen’s personal supply of books that she has ordered directly from the publisher, so she receives no royalties for any copies she sells at this event, and sales tax has already been paid. One hundred percent of the profits will go to pay down the loan on the Family Life Center. The books retail for $14.99 but since this is a fundraiser, we are requesting $15 per book. We hope you’ll stop by and purchase a copy!
Note: If you use an ereader such as Kindle or Nook, you can order the ebook through Barnes and Noble at www.bn.com or Amazon at www.amazon.com.
