Mission Opportunities

solider Cards for Our Troops: Our servicemen and —women love receiving cards to brighten their day and remind them that folks back home are thinking about and praying for them! When you're out and about on your weekly errands, consider picking up a couple of "Get Well" cards for our wounded troops in Afghanistan or "Thinking of You" or "Thank You" cards for our active-duty troops in Kuwait. When writing out the cards, be sure to write the type of card on the envelope, such as "Get Well" or "Thinking of You." Remember, do not include a return address. Simply drop your cards in the red, white, and blue box in the narthex. Thank you for supporting the men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect us.
ECCCM Sign Up to Work at ECCCM! In an effort to increase efficiency, ECCCM has changed their church volunteer system. Instead of a church taking one week a year, the churches are being assigned one day a month. Rehobeth has been assigned the second Thursday of each month. Hours of operation are 8 AM to 5 PM, but you do not need to commit to the full day. Come volunteer for the hours that are convenient for you. Volunteer opportunities include: Bagging food for distribution, stocking shelves, filling client orders at the drive-through door, sorting donations. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign the list in the narthex.

Senior Fitness Senior Fitness: Do you want to improve balance, build strength, increase mobility and decrease aches and pains? Join us Monday and Wednesday mornings at 9:30 in the Family Life Center for “Grow Young Fitness.” This program is specifically designed for seniors and easy to do. This class is free and open to all seniors.
Quarters Lenten Coin Folders Available: Be sure and pick up your Lenten Coin folder today. You may deposit a quarter in each slot in the folder or simply place a check or bill in the folder. (Checks may be made out to “Rehobeth UMC” and in the memo line, write “Lenten Offering.”) It has been our custom at Rehobeth to use the Lenten coin offering to support a special mission project. This year the Lenten coin offering will be given to The Christian Food Pantry of Sherrills Ford, which provides emergency food assistance to those in the Sherrills Ford area needing temporary support. You will have the opportunity to bring your folder to the altar during the service on Easter Sunday.
Candy Donations needed for Easter Egg Hunt: Please help make our Easter Egg Hunt a success. Lots of plastic eggs and candies or other small items to fill them are needed. Deposit your eggs (either filled or empty) and small items in the container in the narthex. We also need baked goods such as cakes, pies, cupcakes, and cookies for our cake walk. If you can supply any baked goods, please sign the list in the narthex. Baked goods may be brought to the Connor Recreation Center the day of the Egg Hunt at 2:00 PM or if that is not convenient, please drop them by the church office on Friday, March 23 between 9:00 AM and 12:00 noon.

Sandy Hook Promise School Safety Meeting: On Saturday, April 7, at 7:00 PM in the Family Life Center, our own Dr. Steve Pickard will lead a seminar on Know the Signs, a program that trains teachers, administrators, students, and community members how to recognize the signs that a person is considering self-harm or violence toward others. The program is provided by Sandy Hook Promise, a national non-profit organization founded and led by several family members whose loved ones were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012. This program offers the tools that empowers people to recognize the warning signs, connect the dots, intervene, and get help for troubled individuals before another senseless tragedy occurs. Don't miss this important meeting!
