Christmas Cards for Our Troops – Thank you for remembering our troops this Christmas season! We were able to send 984 greeting cards to our wounded troops in Afghanistan and active troops in Kuwait. Your thoughtfulness will make the holiday season a little brighter for those who cannot be home this Christmas.
West Virginia Shoeboxes – Thanks to all who gave gift boxes for the elementary-aged children of War, West Virginia, and those who gave so generously for gifts for the middle-school children. Our Rehobeth UMC family provided 240 gift boxes for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. The 200 7th and 8th grade children will receive a new book bag, school supplies, peppermint bark, hats, gloves, and scarves. All 440 children will also receive a Bible.
Gifts for Our Homebound - When going Christmas shopping this season, don’t forget to purchase some small gifts for our Rehobeth shut-ins and nursing home residents. Gift bags with the names of these folks are located in the narthex. Simply wrap your gifts, bring them to the church, and deposit them in the bags. These members really enjoy unwrapping the gifts and being remembered by their church family. Please bring all gifts by Sunday morning, December 21.
Churchwide Christmas Cards – Imagine what a wonderful blessing it would be, for those who are unable to come to church or need special encouragement, to receive a Christmas card signed by our congregation! Please take a miinute to sign the cards in the narthex. Also, there is a sign-up sheet for anyone, member or not, who you would like to receive a card. These cards will be mailed the week of 12/15 but if we miss someone, let Rosie know and we will make sure they are sent a card.
