Mission & Ministry Opportunities
Cards for Our Troops – For more than 10 years, Rehobeth has been sending cards to our wounded troops in Afghanistan and active troops in Kuwait. Make a commitment to write a card or two each week to let the men and women in the military hospital in Afghanistan and military base in Kuwait know how much you appreciate their service. Indicate on the envelope what type of card is enclosed ("Get Well," "Thank You," or "Thinking of You"). Remember, to comply with military security requirements, do not include your return address. Place your cards in the red, white, and blue box located in the narthex. Thank you for supporting our troops!
Catawba Regional Hospice Wish List - Rehobeth Church has a very special relationship with Catawba Regional Hospice. As one of our ongoing missions, we collect certain items that help the patients and their families. Right now there is a need for the following items:
Razors & shaving cream
Snacks for bereavement baskets such as individual packages of chips, crackers, and granola bars
Pantry items such as spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, soups, breakfast items, applesauce, & puddings
Coupons for nutritional drinks such as Boost
For a more complete list of needs, please see the flyer posted on the bulletin board in the narthex. Items may be placed in the basket labeled “Hospice Supplies" on the side table in the narthex.
Thank you to our Sunday School classes and Family Life Council for providing the delicious snacks each night during Vacation Bible School!
Thank you to all our VBS volunteers, youth, and our leader, Carla Stutts, who worked so hard last week to make Vacation Bible School a success! Special thank you to Pastor Kerr for leading the Bible study and to Gale Sherrill, Paula Lane, and Betty Holdsclaw for leading the mission projects for Adult VBS each night. Who said VBS is only for children! Our 17 adult students had a fun time learning and participating in mission projects, snacks, Bible Study, and working puzzles.
Ice Cream Social Fundraiser for Christmas with Dignity Store- FLY Youth are hosting an ice cream social on Sunday, July 17 at the Connor Recreation Center at 3 PM. If you would like to enter the homemade ice cream contest, sign up in the narthex with your name, flavor of ice cream you are making, and place your $5 entry fee in the basket.
The day of the social, all who come to taste=test the ice cream may either pay a monetary donation or donate a new toy for our Christmas with Dignity Toy Store.
The winning ice cream contestant will win the Golden Scoop Award!
