Promotion Sunday – We will be celebrating Promotion Sunday September 7, 2014. All of our young Sunday School students will be promoted to their next grade. Please note that students in the second, fourth, and sixth grades will be changing classrooms. Also, during the worship services, our second graders will be receiving Bibles of their very own. If you have a child who will be in the second grade, please contact the church office as soon as possible. We don’t want to leave anyone out!
Puppet Ministry - We will have a Puppet Ministry Kickoff/Interest meeting—for anyone from 4th grade through adults—on Sunday, September 21 from 3:30 to 4:30 PM in the fellowship hall. We hope to begin planning for community puppet shows and brief puppet shows for the children’s sermon every now and then. No experience necessary!
Ladies Bible Study - Why do we settle for the Word of God revealed to someone else and passed on to us as if HE does not speak to us individually? This shouldn't satisfy us. God wants us to hear His voice, understand, and obey. The Lord desires to speak to us personally. He wants to meet us where we are, despite who we are, and reveal His will for our lives. A new Bible study, “He Speaks to Me,” by Priscilla Shirer will begin on Wednesday, September 17 at 9:30 AM in the church parlor. This is a 6-week study that runs through October. This study is for all ladies of the church and open to the community. Please contact the church office for more information.
Churchwide Yard Sale - Planning for a churchwide yard sale is under way. The sale will be held on Saturday, September 6, from 7 AM to 11 AM. The sale will be held in the church parking lot, but in case of rain, it will be moved to the Fellowship Hall. You may rent a table to sell your own items, or you can donate items to Faith Leading Youth (FLY) to sell. FLY will also be selling biscuits, baked goods, coffee, and drinks.
If you are interested in renting a table:
Rental is $10 per table.
You are responsible for bringing your items to and from the sale, and manning the table during the sale.
You keep all the proceeds from the sale of your items.
Tables will be set up by 6 AM the morning of the sale.
Tables are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
Sign the list in the Narthex and deposit your $10 in the basket if you want to reserve a table.
All money from table rental will benefit the ministries and missions of Rehobeth's Faith Leading Youth (FLY).
Hot Dog/Ice Cream Social - You won’t want to miss out on this exciting church-wide event! The Mae Howard Circle is sponsoring a hot dog supper and ice cream social on Sunday, September 7 at 5:00 PM at the Connor Recreation Picnic Shelter. Not only will we have delicious food, but we will be blessed by wonderful entertainment provided by “Lake Effect,” a women’s barbershop quartet from Sweet Adeline’s International (including our own Nancy Jamgochian) as well as music by our own Bob and Linda Kerr and Faith Leading Youth (FLY). Another fun part of the evening will be an ice cream tasting contest. If you’d like to bring a freezer of homemade ice cream, please sign the list in the narthex. The more participants, the better! There is no set price for the dinner, but donations will be accepted. All proceeds go towards the missions and ministries of the Mae Howard Circle.
