Mission Opportunities

solider Cards for Our Troops: Our servicemen and —women love receiving cards to brighten their day and remind them that folks back home are thinking about and praying for them! When you're out and about on your weekly errands, consider picking up a couple of "Get Well" cards for our wounded troops in Afghanistan or "Thinking of You" or "Thank You" cards for our active-duty troops in Kuwait. When writing out the cards, be sure to write the type of card on the envelope, such as "Get Well" or "Thinking of You." Remember, do not include a return address. Simply drop your cards in the red, white, and blue box in the narthex. Thank you for supporting the men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect us.

Christmas cards are due Sunday, December 3!
ECCCM Sign Up to Work at ECCCM! In an effort to increase efficiency, ECCCM has changed their church volunteer system. Instead of a church taking one week a year, the churches are being assigned one day a month. Rehobeth has been assigned the second Thursday of each month. Hours of operation are 8 AM to 5 PM, but you do not need to commit to the full day. Come volunteer for the hours that are convenient for you. Volunteer opportunities include: Bagging food for distribution, stocking shelves, filling client orders at the drive-through door, sorting donations. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign the list in the narthex.
Mittens Help a Foster Child This Christmas: Rather than a traditional “angel tree,” we are helping to provide books, hats, and mittens or gloves for the foster children in Catawba County like we did last year. Please take a look at the display in the narthex. If you’d like to help:
     1. Select a card(s) from any of the stockings on the tree.
     2. Purchase a book, toboggan hat, and gloves for your child(ren).
     3. Just tie your gift together or put in a gift bag (please do NOT wrap) and include the card.
     4. Place in the appropriate bin in the narthex based on the age of each child.
Gifts are due back Sunday, December 3. Thank you so much for providing a little Christmas cheer for our children.

Bllod Pressure Blood Pressure Checks: A nurse will be available on the first Sunday of each month from 9:45 to 10:40 AM in the narthex. This will replace the wellness clinic previously held on Monday mornings at the Rec Center.
Pickleball Come Play Pickleball! Everyone is invited to come play Pickleball! Even if you haven’t played before, please come give it a try. Pickleball is a game similar to ping-pong and tennis and we encourage everyone to come and join in the fun. We usually meet on the first and fourth Mondays of every month beginning at 6:30 PM at the Connor Recreation Center. It’s a great way to get some exercise!

Next meeting: November 27
Advent wreath Would You Like to Light the Advent Wreath?  During the season of Advent, we will be lighting the candles of the beautiful advent wreath as part of our worship experience. If you and your family would like to be our “candle Lighters” one Sunday, please contact Rosie in the church office.
Poinsettia Help Us Grow a Poinsettia Tree: Please help us decorate our church for Christmas with beautiful poinsettias for our poinsettia tree. Plants can be ordered through the church for $7.00 each and you may take them home with you after the Christmas Eve service. These plants may be placed in memory or in honor of someone special. If you would like to place an order, please sign the form in the narthex. Last day to place an order is Sunday, December 3.
The Star Come With Us to See "The Star": All children and their families are invited to go see the movie, “The Star,” which will be playing at the AmStar 14 theater in Mooresville on Sunday, December 3. This is the animated tale of the first Christmas told through the eyes of the animals. We will leave the Rehobeth parking lot at 3:00 PM in order to get to the theater for the 3:40 PM showing. Children’s tickets are free! The cost for adults is $8.54 per ticket. Invite your family, friends, and neighbors along! Please sign the list in the narthex if you plan to attend.
