Mission & Ministry Opportunities
Cards for Our Troops – For more than 10 years, Rehobeth has been sending cards to our wounded troops in Afghanistan and active troops in Kuwait. Make a commitment to write a card or two each week to let the men and women in the military hospital in Afghanistan and military base in Kuwait know how much you appreciate their service. Indicate on the envelope what type of card is enclosed ("Get Well," "Thank You," or "Thinking of You"). Remember, to comply with military security requirements, do not include your return address. Place your cards in the red, white, and blue box located in the narthex. Thank you for supporting our troops!
Fill a Shoebox for Operation Christmas Child – Once again Rehobeth will be participating in the Operation Christmas Child mission, where shoeboxes filled with gifts are distributed to needy children around the world. In your bulletin this Sunday you will find a brochure that explains how to pack a shoebox, offesr gift suggestions, and includse an envelope for donor information. Operation Christmas Child asks that a $7 donation be included with your shoebox to help with the shipping costs. If you would prefer to make this donation online, you can print out a label, which must be attached to the shoebox. Once the shoebox has reached its destination, the label will be scanned and you will be notified by email where your shoebox was received. Empty shoeboxes are available in the narthex. Feel free to take as many as you would like to fill. (Please do NOT fill “over-sized” boxes.) Also note ALL shoeboxes need to be returned to Rehobeth by November 6. (Please disregard the dates printed on the brochure.) Thank you.
