The Corner Table

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink." (Matthew 25:35, NIV)

Volunteers from Rehobeth parepare and/or serve meals throughout the year at The Corner Table, a soup kitchen in Newton, NC. Members of Faith Leading Youth (FLY) also serve meals during the summer and periodically make bag lunches for The Corner Table's guests, so that they will have healthy food to eat over the weekend.

Eastern Catawba Cooperative Christian Ministry (ECCCM)

"I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked." (2 Corinthians 11:27, NIV)

Rehobeth collects non-perishable food items for ECCCM each week. Look for the collection basket in the Narthex. Also, during a 4-day period each year, Rehobeth sends volunteers to the ECCCM office in Newton, NC, to sort clothing, foodstuffs, and other items for distribution to the needy.

Cards for Our Troops

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. (2 Corinthians 2:3, NIV)

By arrangement with a military hospital in Afghanistan and a commanding officer in Kuwait, Rehobeth sends get well cards and notes of encouragement to our wounded and active troops.  Simply sign and seal your cards and letters, drop them in the red, white, and blue box in the Narthex, and we'll forward them on.
